BBQ Wiskey Fruits/Frutas a la BBQ Con Wiskey

I am a fan of food network, i like to take new ideas so i can try new things at home.  Of course that being vegan is a challenge and i always have to figure out how to moderato the recipe and make it vegan and still delicious.  Well i was watching Pioneer Woman and i saw a BBQ Wiskey Peach Chicken so i reivented this one and made it more about fruits and not about the meat and my kids and i loved it.  Enjoy your fruits.

  • 2 tablespoonsj of vegan butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups whisky
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 3 cups barbecue sauce (recipe on Dicember1, 2016)
  • 1 cup peach preserves (sugar free)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 peaches, pitted and sliced into 8 slices each
  • 5 apples, pitted and sliced into 8 slices each
  • 5 pears, pitted and sliced into 8 slices each
  • 3 green onions, sliced thin, for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for serving

Pre-heat the oven at 300 degrees.

Heat the butter and the olive oil on a pot, then add the onions and let cook till they are traslucent.  Add the wiskey and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes so it reduce down.  Pour in your barbecue sauce, the peach preserves, the worcestershire sauce and add the water.  Mix all well and the add in the fruits.

Move the fruits in to a baking pan and cover it with aluminium foil and let cook for about 1 1/2 hour, till the fruits are soft and rich.  Take out of the oven and sprinkle the onions and parsley on the top.


Soy una gran fan de food network, me gusta tomar nuevas ideas para poder  probar cosas nuevas en casa. Por supuesto que ser vegano es un reto y siempre tengo que averiguar cómo moderar la receta y hacerla vegana y todavía deliciosa. Bueno, yo estaba viendo Pioneer Woman y vi una barbacoa Wiskey Peach de pollo, así que re-invente esta receta y lo hize más sobre las frutas y no sobre la carne y a mis hijos y a minos encantó. Asi que aqui te dejo la receta y disfruta tus frutas.

2 cucharadas de mantequilla vegana
2 cucharadas de aceite de oliva
1 cebolla amarilla, cortada en cubitos
1 1/2 tazas de whisky
1/2 taza de agua
3 tazas de salsa de barbacoa (receta el Diciembre 1, 2016)
1 taza de conservas de melocotón (sin azúcar)
2 cucharadas de salsa Worcestershire
5 melocotones, picados y cortados en 8 rebanadas cada uno
5 manzanas, picadas y cortadas en 8 rebanadas cada una
5 peras, picadas y cortadas en 8 rebanadas cada una
3 cebollas verdes, cortadas en rodajas, para servir
Perejil fresco picado, para servir

Pre-celentar el horno a 300 grados F.
Calentar la mantequilla y el aceite de oliva en una olla, luego añadir las cebollas y dejar cocer hasta que se vean transparentes. Agregue el wiskey y deje cocinar por cerca de 3-4 minutos para que reduzca. Vierta la salsa de barbacoa, las conservas de melocotón, la salsa worcestershire y añadir el agua. Mezclar todo bien y agregar las frutas.

Mueva los frutos a una cacerola y cúbrala con papel de aluminio y déjela cocer durante 1 1/2 hora, hasta que las frutas sean suaves y hermosas. Saque del horno y espolvoree la cebolla y el perejil en la parte superior.
